Slammin Jack was born during an after-work jam session in East Vancouver’s Rockspace rehearsal studio. Blending rock, jazz, trance, funk, bluegrass, over-the-top stadium style jams, and four part harmonies, they soon earned a grassroots following in Vancouver’s Commercial Drive neighbourhood, playing a weekly gig at the venerable Silvertone Tavern.
They took their show on the road in 2003, touring steadily and playing hundreds of shows from coast to coast and as far north as Haida Gwaii. With a rhythm section made up of a massive drum and percussion setup supported by powerful bass, rippin’ guitar, and ethereal keyboards, they were soon headlining festivals and infecting unsuspecting dance floors large and small. The boys finally hung up their hats for good in 2006. Or so we thought....
Presenting the long awaited reunion nobody believed would ever happen: Slammin Jack in the original lineup. Pull out your muppets stuffies and dust off your dance shoes, the psychedelic jam-grass dance-floor trance-funk extravaganza is back.
